About Kalen

Born right here in Washington State, I started my career in 2001 as a nanny in Sweden.  Since then I have had the joy of helping families for 25 years!  I began caring for my first newborn in 2003, and in 2021 I started caring for newborns exclusively.  I am a certified postpartum doula, certified lactation counselor, and newborn care specialist with training from Bastyr University, the Healthy Children Project, and Newborn Care Solutions Institute.  Passionate about babies, their well-being, and safety, I keep up to date on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC.  I adore twins!

When I am not supporting families I enjoy hiking with my partner, cooking, knitting, reading, gardening, and taking care of our fluffy cat named Woozle, and 2 pet ducks named Pigweed and Nettle.  I volunteer for MEOW cat rescue in Kirkland by fostering orphaned kittens.
